Inconsistent

For what are you but a noise from clanging cymbals

You preach but not practice what you preach

Dear Son/Daughter,

I have learned about what happened to you lately.

Do not be disheartened.

There may be wicked spirits lurking around the earth (influencing other spirits) and which I understand is the cause of your heartache, but I would like to assure you that I am in control.

I am not a sleeping God, nor do I sit and do nothing. I am a busy God. I am busy looking after the welfare of all of you, tasking and closely supervising Michael and other angels to look after all of you who believe in my Words. Do not doubt my love.

So you saw the film last night and I heard you said “awesome.” I was smiling. Everything came from stardust…ehhh… what scientists have labeled as basic elements that made up the earth’s biosphere; and how come there is only one planet that has the habitation of human species while others have none and you guys seem to enjoy the billions of stars in the Milky Way galaxy and the septillion other stars in billions of galaxies. That is stating the fact with modesty aside.

Have you also ever wondered why the sun heats up the earth during daytime and hides itself at nighttime? Have you ever wondered why all the planets in the Milky Way have perfect alignment and why they don’t collide with each other? Have you ever wondered why everything on earth are so organized that there is only a need for you to look closely and find how amazing and beautiful they are?

The wisdom that you have acquired on earth is but a speckle of dust in the universe. Job and I had this discourse. I am the God of Heaven and I have been in existence for billions of years. 

When I sent my Son to you two thousand years ago, It was to manifest the love of a Father to His sons and daughters. Have you not ever felt that my Love is perfect? My Son’s sacrifice was a Class Act. No one else can do that. Wake up! No one else. It was not for a show, nor is it for mimicry. 

I am the God of Heaven and I am a trillion times more powerful than Zeus or Apollo and other gods and goddesses in the universe combined. 

Anyone who calls on me with a contrite heart will surely receive an answer.

I see hearts. I see through as I’ve seen David when I appointed Him king of Israel.

Need I say more?

Vivere!

Just sitting at the lobby of Vivere Hotel at Filinvest, Muntinlupa City, Philippines makes me feel so much relaxed. The music from the grand piano from somebody-  a oido artist-  is a delightful experience that it lifts the soul. 

Vivere is all decked up for the Yuletide season. The main lobby has white Christmas trees that sparkle with its glass leaves (it has an indigenous yet elegant touch) and gives you an impression of a winter Christmas (in a very tropical country as the Philippines?) Well, yes.

What with all the friendly smiling crew of that 31-story five-star hotel,  a winter Christmas is possible. You will surely achieve the peace of mind that you need.

Just as inviting is the Nest at the topmost floor. Enjoy a full gastronomic treat of different cuisines, and of course, the panoramic view of Metro Manila and Laguna de Bay. Go to the Spa for a soothing massage or go for a gimmick at the Arts@Cafe. It serves cocktail drinks and even entertains and supports events (for 35 persons). The backdrop of the impression of Van Gogh was perfect for that corner space. Arts@Cafe is located at the ground floor.

Demystfying Shakespeare

I remember when I was a college student- I was awestruck with our literature professor for her wisdom, Dr. Espina – I forgot her first name—but like J.K. Rowling’s experience with the classics corridor  (from her professor—she mentioned  her name in her Harvard speech) –  I did not understand much of Shakespeare  save Romeo and Juliet and the famous line of Hamlet’s “To be, or not to be…” upon his contemplation of killing King Claudius. 

Thank God for the PETA (Philippine Educational Theater Association) play “William.” It was Shakespeare’s works de-mystified to young audiences through the characters’ own experiences themselves. 

The play was launched at the Star Theater, Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, on June 28, this year. It will have its official run in the same venue come January 31, 2014, February 1, 2, 7, 9 and 14 and 16 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

The rap made the play more enjoying to watch. The style fit the young viewers generation--   made contemporary and fun by the comedic lines and perfectly choreographed dances. It must be hard to write a script as witty as that of William’s.

Shakespeare’s poems are life itself, but his work requires careful reading and introspection.

Shylock’s “Hath not a Jew eyes…” –   and Juliet’s line: “What’s in a name that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet…”  In these lines, you see and feel the genius at his most brilliant.

PETA did just that-- (I was, at the moment--  while watching, was carried back to the Elizabethan time)  and translated one of the hardest classic authors for ordinary people like me.
